Cabo Pulmo Snorkeling: A Close Encounter with the Marine Life of the Sea of Cortez
Cabo Pulmo, located on the east coast of Baja California Sur, is an ideal marine paradise for snorkelers. Protected as a National Park since 1995, this ecosystem is home to the only hard coral reef in the Sea of Cortez, making it a sanctuary of biodiversity where you can admire schools of tropical fish, sea turtles, manta rays and even reef sharks in shallow waters.
Season and Ideal Conditions
The best time to snorkel in Cabo Pulmo is from June to November, when the water is warmer and visibility is at its best, exceeding 20 meters on some days. From December to March, the waters can be colder and with more waves, but this is also the season when humpback whales migrate to the region, which adds an additional attraction to the experience.
