General conditions for Dance Camp and Dive Camp
These conditions apply to Dance Camp and Dive Camp, including accommodation and activities booked within the package. The specific booking, payment, cancellation and date change time limits in this section replace the general time limits in the first part for both camps. When you book, we reserve your accommodation and coordinate the team that will deliver your experience.
Amounts retained when a customer cancels are calculated on the total package price and do not require an activity breakdown.
1 Booking scope
Each written booking confirmation must state the service name, dates, start time, duration, participants, total price, currency, taxes, and included and excluded services. For camps, it must also specify the number of nights, accommodation type, meals, transfers, activities, equipment and courses included in the package, where applicable. Services that have not been expressly offered or confirmed are not considered included.
 2 Deposit and final payment
To confirm Dance Camp or Dive Camp, a deposit of 50% of the total price or full payment is required at least 14 days before the confirmed start date and time. If a deposit is paid, the remaining 50% must be paid no later than 7 days before the start. Full advance payment is also permitted. If the balance is not received by the stated deadline, MExplor will notify the customer before canceling the booking.
Any refund will be calculated under section 3 according to the notice period at the time the cancellation takes effect. No additional amount will be retained for nonpayment.
3 Cancellation and refund calculation
With at least 14 days of notice, 100% of the amount paid is refunded, including the deposit. With at least 7 days but less than 14 days of notice, 25% of the total camp price is retained and the remainder of the amount paid is refunded. The amount retained is calculated on the total package price, not on the deposit. With less than 7 days of notice, no standard refund of the amount paid is available.
Notice periods are calculated from the camp start date and time, not from each individual activity: 14 days equals 336 hours and 7 days equals 168 hours. Medical emergencies, flight cancellations and natural disasters will be assessed individually, with reasonable documentation and prompt notice, to determine whether rescheduling or a full or partial refund may be offered. This assessment does not limit applicable legal rights.
Requests changes and cancellations by MExplor
Â
4 Requests and processing
Requests must be submitted in writing to hola@mexplor.co or through the contact form at mexplor.co, stating the customer name, booking reference, service, dates and requested action. The date and time the request is received determine the applicable notice period, regardless of when MExplor responds.
MExplor will provide written confirmation and explain the refund amount and its calculation. Refunds will be made through the same payment method, unless a documented alternative is agreed when this is not possible. The original processing period of up to 7 business days is retained. Any additional bank or payment processor delays will be disclosed, and proof of the refund will be provided.
5 Changes and participant substitutions
For Dance Camp and Dive Camp, one date change without an administration fee is permitted if requested at least 7 days before the confirmed start. The change is subject to availability. Any price difference must be disclosed and accepted before the new date is confirmed. Later requests or additional changes will be assessed individually, without a guarantee of availability.
Participant changes or changes to other services must be confirmed in writing. A participant substitution may be requested in writing and is subject to the requirements of the camp and its providers. For Dive Camp, the replacement participant must meet the health, certification and experience requirements of the booked activities.
6 Activity breakdowns and refunds
If the provider or MExplor cancels the entire service or camp before it begins, the customer may choose rescheduling or a full refund. If only part of the program is canceled, the customer may choose to reschedule that part, accept an equivalent alternative or receive a refund for the portion not provided. A credit or replacement will not be imposed without the customer’s acceptance.
For services with individual prices disclosed before booking, refunds for canceled components will be calculated using that breakdown. Dive Camp is sold as a specially priced package from an external provider and does not have individual prices per dive or activity. The total price will therefore not automatically be divided by the number of dives, and an individual package breakdown will not be required.
If the provider cancels part of the program, MExplor will coordinate the replacement, rescheduling, accepted alternative or refund options applicable to the package and communicate the resolution in writing, including the amount and calculation criteria where a refund applies. The absence of a breakdown does not mean that included activities have zero value or remove the customer’s rights.
If the entire camp is canceled, the option of a full refund or rescheduling remains available. These options apply to cancellations due to weather, port closures, unavailability or other causes. If the provider is responsible for a failure to perform, any additional price reductions, compensation and other rights required by applicable law will also be respected.
7 No shows and early departures
Failure to attend, late arrival that prevents participation or voluntary early departure does not qualify for a standard refund of booked services that were available. Documented force majeure situations will be reviewed under section 3. If a service was not provided due to the provider, section 6 applies.
Specific Dance Camp terms
8 Program and inclusions
Dance Camp combines dance instruction with the accommodation services and experiences expressly booked. The confirmation must identify the dance styles, number and duration of classes, group or private format, level, accommodation nights and additional experiences. A specific instructor, dance partner or access to external events is not guaranteed unless expressly agreed.
Snorkeling, cenote visits and other experiences are included only when listed in the confirmed package. Their schedules and participation requirements must be communicated before the start.
9 Participation and classes
Participants must disclose their level and any relevant injuries or limitations, arrive on time and follow the instructors’ directions. MExplor must disclose age requirements and, where applicable, any required authorization and accompaniment for minors before accepting the booking. Physical contact during dancing must be respectful and consensual.
Any participant may decline a partner or movement that makes them uncomfortable. Harassment, violence and participation under the influence of substances that compromise safety are not permitted.
10 Accommodation and shared spaces
When accommodation is included, the room type, occupancy, check-in and check-out times, visitor rules, use of common areas and quiet hours will be communicated in writing. Participants must respect other guests and take care of facilities and equipment. Damage attributable to a participant must be documented and any charge justified. Undisclosed automatic penalties will not apply.
11 Changes to classes or experiences
MExplor may propose adjustments for safety, weather or availability and will notify the customer. If a booked class or experience is not provided, the options in section 6 will be offered. Substantial changes to duration, format or content require the customer’s acceptance. A class missed by the participant’s choice or due to lateness does not automatically qualify for a refund or replacement when the service was available.
Interruptions due to injury or a medical emergency will be reviewed under section 3.
12 Dance Camp cancellation and refunds
Dance Camp requires a 50% deposit or full payment at least 14 days before the start, with the balance due 7 days before the start. If canceled at least 14 days in advance, all amounts paid are refunded. With at least 7 days but less than 14 days of notice, 25% of the total camp price is retained and the remainder of the amount paid is refunded. With less than 7 days of notice, no standard refund is available. One date change is permitted under section 5.
Documented emergencies are assessed under section 3. If MExplor cancels the entire camp, the customer may choose a full refund or rescheduling. Section 6 applies to canceled components.
Specific Dive Camp terms
13 Program and prerequisites
The Dive Camp confirmation must specify accommodation nights, the number and type of dives, planned sites, required level, guide or instruction services, equipment, transfers and, where applicable, the certification course and materials. A visit to a specific site or wildlife sighting is not guaranteed unless expressly agreed in a manner consistent with safety conditions.
Before accepting the booking, MExplor must communicate age, certification, experience and documentation requirements. Participants must provide accurate information and show their certification when required for the activity. Introductory activities must follow the requirements of the relevant program.
14 Health and fitness to dive
The program’s or operator’s medical questionnaire must be completed before activities begin. If the answers or applicable rules require a medical assessment, the corresponding medical clearance must be provided before diving. Booking payment does not replace fitness and safety requirements.
Participants must disclose relevant health changes and immediately report pain, difficulty equalizing, dizziness or any other discomfort. The instructor or guide may suspend participation for objective safety reasons. A medical condition must not be concealed to avoid cancellation.
15 Safety equipment and certification
Participants must follow the responsible professional’s instructions, program limits and guidance on rest and flying after diving. Diving under the influence of alcohol or substances that compromise safety is not permitted. Participants must take care of equipment. Any charge for damage or loss must be documented and reflect their established responsibility.
Booking a course does not guarantee certification. Certification depends on meeting the relevant agency’s theoretical, practical and safety requirements. If additional sessions are needed, their availability and price must be agreed before booking them. Additional services will not be charged without consent.
16 Weather and environmental protection
Sites and schedules may change due to sea conditions, port closures, visibility or safety decisions. No dive will be forced in unsafe conditions. If a booked activity cannot take place, the rescheduling, accepted alternative or refund options in section 6 apply. Participants must respect ecosystems, avoid touching or chasing wildlife and follow the rules of the area visited. Before booking,
MExplor will disclose any included insurance coverage and any insurance required for the activity. Medical or evacuation coverage must not be assumed to be included.
Dive Camp refunds and final provisions
17 Dive Camp cancellation and refunds
Dive Camp requires a 50% deposit or full payment at least 14 days before the start, with the balance due 7 days before the start. If canceled at least 14 days in advance, all amounts paid are refunded. With at least 7 days but less than 14 days of notice, 25% of the total camp price is retained and the remainder of the amount paid is refunded. With less than 7 days of notice, no standard refund is available. These conditions cover accommodation, courses and dives included in the package.
One date change is permitted under section 5. If MExplor cancels the entire camp, the customer may choose a full refund or rescheduling. If a customer cannot dive because of a newly arising medical condition, they must notify MExplor as soon as possible. The notice periods in section 3 apply. Documented medical emergencies may be assessed individually to determine whether rescheduling or a refund may be offered.
During the camp, pending activities affected by a documented emergency will be reviewed, taking into account services already provided. A personal decision to skip an available, safe dive does not automatically entitle the participant to a refund. If MExplor failed to disclose a requirement before booking that prevents participation, the case will not automatically be treated as a customer no show and will be resolved with respect for the customer’s rights.
If the operator cancels a dive, section 6 applies.
18 Responsibilities and rights
Participants must follow safety instructions and provide accurate information. MExplor and its providers must deliver the booked services under the offered conditions and with applicable safety measures. No risk acknowledgment excludes legal liability for negligence, breach of obligations or deficient service.
19 Personal data and images
Booking and health information will be handled in accordance with the privacy notice and applicable consents. Promotional use of identifiable photos or videos requires separate authorization. Booking or participating in a camp does not itself authorize advertising use.
20 Contact acceptance and effective conditions
Booking and cancellation contact: hola@mexplor.co and the contact form at mexplor.co. These conditions must be provided before payment and acceptance must be recorded. The booking confirmation and this policy form part of the contractual information. Any particular condition must be communicated and accepted before booking.
