Playa del Carmen is easily accessible from several important points in the region:
From Cancun International Airport: The fastest way is to take a cab, private shuttle service or rent a car. The trip takes approximately 45 minutes on Federal Highway 307 heading south.
ADO bus: ADO buses offer direct service from the airport and other points in Cancun to the bus terminal in downtown Playa del Carmen. The trip takes about one hour.
Ferry from Cozumel: If you are coming from Cozumel, you can take a ferry from the San Miguel pier. The trip takes about 40 minutes and drops you off in downtown Playa del Carmen.
From Tulum or Cancun: You can take a colectivo (shared minibus) along Highway 307, an inexpensive and frequent service.
